Funky Faces This is probably one of my favorite assignments all year. The kids and I look at two pictures, both by artist Pablo Picasso and discuss what is different about them. One is a straight forward self portrait and the other a cubist piece called "The Weeping Woman". After a while, the kids noticed that the woman's face was all jumbled and full of shapes and colors while the self portrait was "normal". We also noted the one similarity in both. Both images had two eyes, one nose, one mouth and ears. Well, that was the only rule we needed to stick to in creating our own "Funky Faces".
