Patterned Prints With a firm understanding of patterns and how they repeat, I challenged these wonderful kids with a new way to apply patterns. With quilts in mind, we placed a pattern onto a small square and repeated it. Sounds simple, right? Well, I also introduced the kids to print making. There were a number of steps like pressing the pattern into a piece of foam, rolling the ink over the foam, pressing the foam firmly on a piece of paper and slowly peeling the foam back away from the paper. Oh, not to mention the need to clean the foam in between each color they used. A lot of steps to remember, but these kids did a fantastic job considering, for the majority of them, it was their first time ever making prints. Wonderful job!!
