Pinch Pots Every year, the students create pinch pots and, it seems, every year they just get better. I demonstrated how to roll a ball of clay ("like a meatball") and squish our thumb down right in the middle of the top of it. Then, we "pinched" our way around the clay to create a larger opening. Later, these young artists used clay tools or texture sheets to carve into or add pattern to their pinch pots. We let the pinch pots dry and then we glazed them with three (3) layers so that they would have a nice, shiny finish. I am always amazed at how well these come and am so proud of how well these kids worked. Great Job !!
