November- December 2019 We began in November and into December on a quest to become the best cutter by practicing our cutting skills on projects like "Matisse's Garden" and "Geometric Robots". It was wonderful to see such imaginative creations and confidence gained in how to cut shapes, both geometric and organic. We then jumped into "Pattern Rugs" which focused on how lines, shapes or colors, as long as they repeat, are patterns. So we created a set of four different patterns and added fringes on the top and bottom to create that rug-like look. We, then, learned about creating visual space by watching a Grover video about near and far. We discovered that items which are larger, they are "Near". When items are smaller, they are "Far". Our drawings of trees, done in colored pencil, reflects this newly found information. As the new year rolled in, it allowed us to look back, like way back. Like, 20,000 years back. We took a virtual "tour" through the Lascaux Caves and learned of how cave people communicated with pictures and then created our own cave drawings. Looking forward to more creativity, imagination and, of course, those bright smiles.
