Near & Far The kids watched a short video about Near and Far ( Grover - Sesame Street ). Grover would run close to the camera and say "near". He would, then, run away from the camera and yell "far!". From this, we discussed that near is "big" and far is "small". Putting this into practice, the kids created landscapes with trees that were both near and far. We started with a horizon line, ( a horizontal line that went across the middle of the paper ) and created our landscape with far ( small ) trees closer to the horizon line and near ( big ) trees further away from the horizon line. As a refresher of this project, some classes collaborated to make Truffula Trees that reflected the same idea as the landscapes. Wonderful Job!!
