Rainbow Fish Continuing with the theme of Texture, we read the story "Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. After reading the story, we talked about how the scales of a fish might "feel". Some answers were "bumpy", "slimy", "sharp" or "smooth". This allowed us to look at objects in the room and talk about what they might feel like. In doing so, we worked together to define Texture as how something "feels". Using texture sheets underneath their drawings, the students created their own textured fish. And like in the story, they were given a shiny scale to shimmer under the sea.
